Education and Professional Advancement for Underrepresented Groups
The Alfred P. Sloan Foundation does not offer scholarships or other direct support to students wishing to earn their MS or Ph.D. in a scientific or technological field, except through the Minority Ph.D. program and the Sloan Indigenous Graduate Partnership. This program also does not make grants to support projects directed at pre-college students.
Interested grantseekers with a project with a national focus that promotes the education or advancement of women or other underrepresented minorities in mathematics, the natural sciences and/or engineering should email a letter of inquiry of no more than two pages to Program Director Elizabeth Boylan. Before submitting a letter of inquiry, please review the Foundation's guidelines on what we do not fund.
For more information about letters of inquiry or other Alfred P. Sloan Foundation grant application procedures, visit our Apply for Grants page.
