Biosecurity
Grants in the Biosecurity program aim to increase American biosecurity and reduce the threat posed by bioterrorism. The Foundation is interested in issues surrounding dangerous research and the potential misuse of scientific knowledge, methods and materials in the life sciences, particularly synthetic biology. Foundation efforts also focus on attempts to raise awareness of biosecurity issues among policymakers, the scientific community, and the public.
