Alfred P. Sloan Foundation

Science and Engineering Work Force

The Alfred P. Sloan Foundation’s program on the Science and Engineering Work Force supports the development and assembly of objective data and basic facts about the U.S. labor market in science and engineering. As a result of the Foundation’s work in this program, the nation’s understanding of this work force is expanding. Leading researchers are developing information and analyses on temporary workers, graduate students, postdoctoral students, and part-time or adjunct faculty.

The program’s Small Grants Program supports creative research on the U.S. work force and labor markets in science and engineering.   The goal of this research competition is to encourage the development of innovative yet feasible research ideas.
