Site Visit Grants for Early Career Scholars The Industry Studies Program is pleased to announce a new grant program to support the travel of early career scholars to visit research sites of interest. For pre-tenure scholars, the expense of travel can be an obstacle to conducting the field work necessary for an in-depth industry study. Site visits can encompass diverse types of observation. For instance, a researcher‘s initial observational visit to an industry location might provide valuable intuition about the dynamics of that industry without producing distinct data for an empirical study. Site visits might also be arranged to collect specific data or information through observation. Both types of site visits are examples of travel that would be eligible for a Site Visit Grant. In order to encourage early career scholars to incorporate direct observation in their research, the Site Visit Grant program provides grants of up to $5,000 each. Up to 10 grants will be awarded annually. Details about the application process can be found in the Call for Proposals, which is available online along with the Application Form. Applications are due on January 31 and recipients will be notified in April each year. Results of the Site Visit Grants will be presented in poster sessions during the Industry Studies Conference.
