National Medal of Science Winners
The President's National Medal of Science is the highest scientific honor awarded by the United States government, given to deserving individuals in recognition of their outstanding contributions to knowledge in the physical, biological, mathematical, engineering, or social and behavioral sciences. Since the inception of the awards in 1959, 63 Sloan Research Fellows have gone on to receive the honor.
